Crime Alert: Keyless vehicle thefts

We’re seeing an increase in reports of vehicle thefts across Tandridge. Currently Ford Rangers, Nissan Navaras and Kia electric vehicles have all been targeted, but we are also aware of thefts of Toyota Hilux, C-HR, RAV4 and Land Cruiser models across the county.

Criminals are using increasingly sophisticated methods to bypass factory-fitted security systems, meaning even modern vehicles can be vulnerable to theft.

If you own one of these vehicles, consider adding extra layers of security to protect it:

🔒 Use a steering wheel lock or wheel clamp
🛡️ Consider an additional aftermarket immobiliser, such as a Ghost immobiliser
📍 Install a vehicle tracking device
🔑 Keep vehicle keys secure, out of sight and away from doors and windows
📦 Store keyless-entry fobs in a Faraday pouch or box

Taking these additional steps can make your vehicle harder to steal and help deter criminals from targeting it.
